Direct Billing, So You Pay Only the Difference
How it works
Most work and personal plans cover physiotherapy. We bill your insurer directly at each visit, and you pay only the part your plan doesn't cover. Your first visit is free and is never billed to your plan, so your coverage stays for the visits that follow.
Bring your insurance card, or a photo of it, to your first visit and we'll set it up.
Plus Canada Life, Desjardins and most other insurers.
Five things worth checking
- Your yearly maximum. Many plans give $300 to $1,000 a year for physio. Some group a few therapies together.
- The percentage. Most plans pay 80% to 100% of each visit.
- A doctor's note. Some plans ask for one before they pay. A quick call to your insurer will tell you.
- Your plan year. Many plans reset on January 1, some on another date. Unused amounts don't carry over.
- A second plan. A spouse's plan can cover the rest. A health spending account can too.
Running low on coverage? Your first visit is free and isn't billed to your plan. After that, we build a home program so your visits go further, and a spouse's plan or health spending account can pick up the difference.
Hurt at work
WSIB covers your physio
If you were hurt at work, WSIB pays for your physiotherapy once your claim is approved. You can come straight to physio. A physiotherapist can assess you and send the first report (Form 8) to WSIB. You choose where you're treated, and approved claims cost you $0.

Auto insurance pays first
After a crash, your auto policy's accident benefits pay for physiotherapy, even if the crash was your fault. Since July 1, 2026, auto insurance pays first, before any work plan. Minor injuries come with a $3,500 treatment budget, and serious injuries get more. We complete the forms (OCF-23 or OCF-18) and bill the insurer. Report the crash to your insurer within 7 days, get a claim number, then book.

Who qualifies for OHIP funded physio
Ontario funds physiotherapy at Community Physiotherapy Clinics if you are 65 or older, 19 or under, receiving Ontario Works or ODSP, or discharged from hospital after an overnight stay or day surgery in the last 12 months (for that condition). No referral is needed.
Interlink is a private clinic, so we don't bill OHIP. The nearest funded clinics are in Hamilton, and the province lists them. You're also welcome to start here. Your first visit is free, follow-ups are $95, and many people 65 and over have a benefits plan or a spouse's plan that helps.

Simple, with a receipt every time
No plan? Your first visit is free, then it's $95 per 30 minute visit. Physiotherapy counts as a medical expense on your Canadian tax return, and a health spending account can pay it too.
We take debit, credit and e-transfer. Please give 24 hours' notice if you need to change or cancel a visit, so the time can go to someone else.
Fees and Coverage FAQ
How much does physiotherapy cost in Ontario?
The Ontario Physiotherapy Association's 2026 market rate report found an average fee of $133 for an assessment, and $81 to $148 for follow-up visits depending on length. At Interlink your first visit (assessment plus first treatment) is free, and follow-up visits are $95 for 30 minutes.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
No. In Ontario you can see a physiotherapist directly. Some insurance plans ask for a doctor's note before they pay, so check your plan booklet or call your insurer. WSIB and auto insurance claims don't need one.
How many visits will I need?
It depends on the problem and your goals. Many recovery plans run 6 to 8 visits over a few weeks. After your assessment you get a clear plan with a rough timeline, plus a home program so you keep progressing between visits.
What if my benefits run out?
You have options. A spouse's plan can cover the rest. A health spending account can pay the difference. Your plan may reset soon (many reset on January 1). And self pay is $95 a visit, with a home program to stretch the time between visits. We'll help you plan it out.
Is the first visit really free?
Yes. New patients get a full assessment and their first treatment at no charge. It's never billed to any insurer, so your coverage stays for the visits that follow. Treatment is given only where it's clinically appropriate, and there's no obligation to continue.
Do you charge extra for WSIB or car accident visits?
No. WSIB and auto insurers pay us directly for approved claims. You pay nothing at the clinic.
Can I get a receipt for my taxes or health spending account?
Yes. You get a receipt for every visit. Physiotherapy counts as a medical expense on your Canadian tax return, and most health spending accounts accept our receipts.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Your insurance card, or a photo of it, so we can set up direct billing. Your claim number if you have a WSIB or auto claim. Clothes you can move in. That's it.
